It is officially World Nutella Day 2009! Feb. 5th, 2009
I found out about this myself at a couple of great blogs … http://msadventuresinitaly.com/blog and also at http://bleedingespresso.com/ and at http://www.reallyrome.com/blog and lastly (but hopefully not for long) http://nutelladay.com/ . These are all fun blogs for folks who love Italy or just want to read and enjoy.
But back to NUTELLA! This wonderful chocolate type spread is a great way to feel good about eating a rich delightful gooey spreadable that is also healthy! Hazelnut spreads are the peanut butter of Europe – and my husband and then our now adult sons all grew up eating Nutella. My sister-in-law used to pack jars of the 5 pound variety in our care packages from Italy – the jars are great – we saved all of them and find hundreds of uses for them! And of course we can now buy nutello here stateside (not in those jumbo jars though…hmmm) so we enjoy anytime. Although I do have to say my son eating it by the spoonful sure makes quick finish of a jar! By the way, nutello is as nutritious as peanut butter and obviously a lot safer at the moment!
